The Lawnside Historical Society will meet to coordinate June activities from Juneteenth participation, Installation of Lawnside’s Black Heritage Trail Marker, History Pinned Civic Season and Voter Registration Drive, Underground Railroad Camp and 100th Anniversary events. 2026 Underground Railroad Youth Camp
The 5th summer of the Underground Railroad Camp hosted by the Lawnside Historical Society will examine the secret network to freedom through crafts, visual arts, poetry and multimedia. Register NOW for this year’s free camp for 6th – 8th graders.

Ken Johnston, the Walking Artist, started walking to preserve our Civil Rights, in response to the erosion of the gains made in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Join us this month to hear more about his story!

Join us and Retired U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel Rosen who will talk about his experiences as a VISTA volunteer in Alabama during the Civil Rights era and parallels to current times.
