Pre-Game Prep: Juneteenth Playing Snow Hill Games Fundraiser
Ring in Juneteenth Playing Snow Hill Games and Support the Peter Mott House
Get prepped by master history teacher Muneerah Higgs for the first Snow Hill Games Grown Folks Edition as a Juneteenth Eve fundraiser for the Peter Mott House Underground Railroad Museum on Friday, June 18 at 7 p.m.
The Lawnside Historical Society will be holding the first annual Snow Hill Games fundraising event this year via Zoom in a virtual format. As reported in the Philadelphia Inquirer, “Snow Hill Games” was a lively part of Black History Month at Lawnside Public School. Now, in response to popular demand, Visualizing the Past brings you “The Grown Folks Edition.” The same game but for adults.
During this Juneteenth Eve fundraising event:
- Celebrate Emancipation Day, with a virtual visit to the new Juneteenth mural in Galveston, Texas.
- Uncover your Juneteenth family with a Genealogy Quick Start by Shamele Jordon
- Enjoy an engaging Lawnside history lesson from Muneerah Higgs
- Play Snow Hill Games, a trivia game, online using Kahoot.IT. Participants are quizzed on historical events and people on the postcards.
