Freedom Seekers and Safe Havens: The Underground Railroad in South Jersey

This panel explores the people, places, and routes that supported freedom seekers traveling through South Jersey, including the Peter Mott House, anti-slavery activism in Salem County, Mount Peace Cemetery, and the inspiring story of Charity Still, who self-liberated from slavery. The New Jersey Historical Commission provided a grant for research to produce a documentary and website.
