Lawnside Historical Society 31st Anniversary

Register for Peter Mott House Historical Marker & Sign Dedication Ceremony. Help us meet our $100K Renovation fund!
Join the Lawnside Historical Society at the Peter Mott House Underground Railroad Museum for its 31st Anniversary Celebration. Pastor Terrell Person of Jacob’s Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will bless our historic markers and founding members will be honored.
We will be treated to special performances by
- Civil War Reenactor Joe Becton
- Saxophonist & Recording Artist – Nasir Dickerson
- Poet, Vocalist & Author – Sandra Turner Barnes
- Keith Henley as the Reverend Peter Mott
… And Young Lawnside scholars will share what they have discovered about the history of the town.
In-person and online attendees are asked to register and receive links and instructions for attendance and participation.
Depending on the status of the pandemic, a limited number of visitors may be able to tour inside the Mott House for a small donation. The event will be streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube for those who can’t be there.
The Society is raising $100,000 for needed repairs to the Mott House.
