The Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission has awarded the Society a $9,000 general operating support grant for Fiscal Year 2023 through the New Jersey Historical Commission’s County History Partnership Program. The Society will use the money to pay historians, speakers and researchers, as well as insurance, marketing, postage and telephone. The Society received a grant last year. The Cultural and Heritage Commission at Camden County College is the officially designated county history agency of the New Jersey Historical Commission.
The Society will receive a grant of $21,750 for Fiscal Year 2024 for a project called “Along Freedom’s Journey: The Peter Mott House, Snow Hill, N.J.” The money, pending availability, will be disbursed in July 2023 through the Inclusive History Grant Program in which funded projects will explore under-represented narratives in state history with a goal of expanding inclusive, community-centered interpretation and resources for a public audience.
