Event Celebrates Local Film

On October 5, WHYY and Scribe Video Center will celebrate Scribe's 25th Anniversary with a special reception kick off and preview of the broadcast premiere of Scribe's Precious Places Community History Project on WHYY TV 12.

The Lawnside Historical Society's project, "On Mount Peace," about the efforts to save and restore Mount Peace Cemetery is among the films to be celebrated. It was directed by Muneerah Higgs with technical support from Robert Emmons, Jr. through a grant from Scribe Video Center. Several members and residents appeared in or helped with production. Television viewers can tune in during one of 14 broadcasts starting Oct. 7 on WHYY on Sundays at 11:30 p.m. Consult www.whyy.org for complete program listings.
